MISSION STATEMENT

The Muslim Community of Brandon and Western Manitoba recognize Islam as the right and true divine religion with the core belief that:

  • “THERE IS NO GOD BUT ALLAH AND MUHAMMAD (Peace be upon Him) IS THE (Last) MESSENGER OF ALLAH”

  • Belief in ALLAH, and His Angels, and His Books, and His Messengers, and the Last Day, and in the Fate, The Good thereof and the bad thereof, which is from ALLAH, THE MOST HIGH, and (belief in) resurrection after death

and recognize ISLAM as a total way of life and have pledged to practice it as such. 

Brandon Islamic Centre is a religious, non-profit and non-political organization with community outreach, including the Muslim and non-Muslim communities. Brandon Islamic Centre’s mission is to:

  1. Use the property at the 834 10th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, designated as the Brandon Islamic Centre Main Masjid, for the daily congregation prayers, Friday and Eid prayers, and various community events;
  2. Arrange and hold congregational prayers and Islamic religious festivals at appropriate times;
  3. Promote unity and cooperation among the community members;
  4. Provide Islamic services and develop institutions to meet the needs of Muslims, including but not limited to Islamic schools, funeral, burial and cemetery services;
  5. Endeavour to make Islamic teachings known to interested Muslims and non-Muslims;
  6. Conduct religious, educational, cultural, and other activities in the best traditions of Islam;
  7. Promote better relations between Muslims and non-Muslims;
  8. Work towards the betterment of the society with family being the basic unit, the City of Brandon, the Province of Manitoba, Canada and the entire world;
  9. Promote peace and harmony in the society with good working relationships with various government and non-government organizations, institutions and departments at the municipal, provincial and federal levels;
  10. Where applicable, participation in and sponsoring various community events, organizations and educational institutes by the essential practice of Islam;
  11. Provide scholarships and/or financial support to various students on merit and/or on financial need;
  12. Provide volunteer services to the community at various levels.
